how we love

My sister and I were driving back to Denver after a beautiful day in Buena Vista, deep in conversation, when suddenly over the horizon, we saw it: the most beautiful moon we’d ever seen. And it was just sitting there, on a cloud, hovering above the rolling hills and mountains in the distance.

Whenever I see stuff like that, I always say something like, “gosh, am I grateful to have glasses,” because I don’t know if I could stand it if I couldn’t witness moments like that.

I hope this painting makes you feel a quiet but vibrant solitude, and reminds you of how connected you are to the earth and yourself.

Artwork information:

8 x 10”, acrylic on canvas, unframed, unvarnished.
