Solace Series

Welcome to the Solace Series, a group of five small-scale paintings with large-scale soul. The process of creating these paintings, which were launched one by one from January 24-28, 2022, was truly a truly meditative experience. My main objective was to create art that made me happy, that filled my heart.

What was on my mind most was gratitude for my art supplies, my studio, and the stillness, or wildness, that I felt in these landscapes. The feeling of being so small yet so significant in the world around me. I hope you enjoy.

The locations for these landscapes are pulled from places which have deeply moved me this year during trips taken after over a year of seeing the same view for so long. These towns, roads, skies, etc widened my perspective and reminded me to give more gratitude for being able to have come this far.

I hope they remind you of how far you have come, and how you’re not done yet.
