Heather Meatherall is a teenage poet from Canada. She finds a lot of inspiration from quotes, music and nature. She plans to attend university for computer science in the fall. When she isn't writing poetry, she's crocheting, baking or playing piano.

I Will Not Tell You

I will not tell you
that it will get better
that it will stop hurting
that one day you will wake up
and no longer feel this pain

I will not tell you this
because that would be lying

I will tell you
that it will become bearable
that one day you will wake up
and it won't hurt as badly as it does now

I will tell you
that it it will still ache
it will always ache

I will tell you
that it won't go away
you won't notice it all the time
you might even forget about it for a little while
but it will always be there

I will tell you
you'll carry it around with you
because it's a part of them
and maybe its not the part you want
but it's the part you've got
so you keep it in your pocket
and it's almost like they're there with you

I will tell you
at some point it becomes bearable
