Kristen Oyer Art

I spend most days making magic.

My studio is messy and quiet. You can hear the trees dancing outside the windows and my cats purring on the sofa. My easel, my brushes, and my paints are always ready for the next adventure.

WAY OUT WEST

My newest collection of original landscape paintings is here.

Go behind the scenes

Let me give you a little backstory.

At the end of 2019, I decided to quit my full-time job. I was feeling so lost as a human being and had given up my passions — who’s been there, right? And so, Starbucks lost another burned out barista, and I began to rediscover myself again…

My hands needed to be making a mess, or beauty, or both. I started a creative internship and felt like that was good enough. Then, the pandemic hit. The world was at a standstill. I picked up Animal Crossing again and fell into a rough sleep pattern.

One day in April, a month later, I set aside all distractions and picked up a pen and sketchbook and drew three poppies. From there, I created my first collection. And then a second. A third. A fourth, a fifth…and now, a sixth.

I am so proud to be an artist, and I am so grateful for my collectors and an audience which allows me to dedicate my life to creating beauty for beautiful people.

I gave up making lattes.

“…I’d like to start by breaking down my personal experience with purchasing art, if that’s okay with you. My intentions with telling my story aren’t to say ‘well if I can do it, you can,’ but I do want to make it clear that it’s not as stuffy and confusing as it seems...”
